J’ai beaucoup d’intérêt pour la campagne aux Etats-Unis. Le vainqueur aura bien sûr un impact important concernant le réchauffement, les relations avec le moyen orient et même la construction de l’Europe…

En regardant la campagne de Romney, je me suis réellement inquiété de sa difficulté apparente à apprendre des erreurs passées, de sa capacité saisissante à mener de manière répétée la même mauvaise analyse concernant la religion ou l’Islam… Il est parti, tant mieux à mon avis, le reste de la course n’en est que plus intéressante…

Pour l’anecdote, il a annoncé lors de son discours de départ qu’il ne souhaitait pas que les Etats-Unis deviennent la France du 21^ème siècle, à savoir un grand pays mais pas le leader…

For once I will add an English version of my post. I am really interested in the US elections. The winner will have a tremendous impact regarding global warming, relationships with Middle East and even the political development of Europe.

Looking at the campaign of Romney, I really started to get concerned about his difficulty to learn from past mistakes and about his astonishing ability to, repeatedly, have the same erroneous analysis regarding the religion or Islam… He’s gone, that’s better to my opinion; the race becomes even more interesting…

He made a surprising comment during his leaving speech, when he mentioned that: “As I said to you last year, conservative principles are needed now more than ever. We face a new generation of challenges: challenges which threaten our prosperity, our security and our future. I'm convinced that unless America changes course, we could become the France of the 21st century. Still a great nation, but not the leader of the world, not the superpower. And to me that's unthinkable.
